Undergraduate
Curriculum
-
2nd grade subjects Courses for sophomores include Engineering mathematics, Physical chemistry, Structural properties of materials, Electrical, optical, and magnetic properties of materials, all of which are essentially required core courses to enhance general understanding of materials science and engineering. In addition, Introductory organic chemistry, Introduction to ceramic materials, and Introduction to organic materials are recommended for understanding organo/inorgano displays and semiconductors. Moreover, Numerical analysis for materials is recommended for understanding the properties of materials based on numerical data.
-
3rd grade subjects Courses for juniors include Thermodynamics of materials and Electronics and semiconductor science & engineering, both of which are essential for understanding behaviors of atoms and electrons. X-ray crystallography, Electronic ceramics, and Semiconductor materials are also recommended as major courses for advanced understanding the core structure of semiconductor devices. In addition, Thin film engineering, Thermal transfer/diffusion and Solid state physics are recommended as major courses for in-depth learning of phase equilibrium and transformation of structural materials.
-
4th grade subjects Courses for seniors include Semiconductor processing and Electronic material processing, focusing on displays and semiconductors. Optical materials/devices, Electromagnetism, Applications of electronics materials, Display materials/processing, Superconductor materials/applications, and Nanomaterials are also recommended as an major courses. Moreover, senior students mandatorily take Capstone design to work closely with a professor on a research paper by designing experiments and analyzing data, aiming at applying their in-class knowledge to research work in a laboratory.
※We recommend that you select and take courses that will allow you to deepen each field starting from your second year of study.
